Seventeen Students Complete Security Cooperation Industry Course

Seventeen industry professionals attended Defense Security Cooperation University’s (DSCU) Security Cooperation Industry Orientation Course, April 2-4, 2024, in the National Capital Region. Taught by DSCU’s School of Security Cooperation Studies (SSCS) faculty, the Industry Orientation Course is designed to familiarize U.S. Defense Industry students with U.S. government (USG) organizations, Security Cooperation programs roles and responsibilities, and the legal and procedural policies that direct the execution of Security Cooperation and Security Assistance programs.

DSCU strives to be the center of intellectual life for the Security Cooperation enterprise; we prepare a global network of professionals to achieve outcomes that enhance the security of the United States and its partners and allies. DSCU’s SSCS provides the Security Cooperation enterprise professional courses and development with a particular emphasis on Foreign Military Sales processes to a diverse audience of U.S. and international military and civilian students. The students for this course work in areas of marketing, sales, business development, export compliance, contracting, offsets, logistics support and/or finance within the U.S. Defense Industry.

The students were provided the appropriate Security Cooperation management methodologies in order work effectively with the U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) in Security Cooperation and Security Assistance program execution. They also had the opportunity to engage career USG professionals from the Department of State, the Department of Commerce, as well as the DOD.
