This seminar exposes Security Cooperation (SC) workforce personnel to a unique set of DoD SC budget and funding mechanics associated with SC programs to be able to appropriately resource and fund their organizations and efficiently execute SC programs to meet U.S. objectives.

This is an intermediate-level half day seminar conducted via synchronous webinar and applies to the Security Cooperation (SC) Execution Support Management (XSPT) Area of Concentration (AOC). Specifically, it is designed for Security Cooperation (SC) workforce personnel who perform duties associated with SC budget and funding and provides an update on unique financial aspects related to specific SC programs. The seminar format will utilize Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and program owners who will address new and evolving funding and budget characteristics of SC programs.

This distance learning Virtual Instructor Led Training (VILT) seminar is delivered via the DSCU online learning management system, Blackboard. Once registered and accepted for the seminar, students will receive a username and password for the DSCU Blackboard website. Internet access is required to access the live webinar. Attendance and participation in the live webinar is required for credit and seminar completion.


This seminar’s objective is for students to interact with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and program owners on new and dynamic topics associated with funding and budget mechanics associated with specific SC programs. The webinar format is intended to expose students to timely and relevant SC funding and budget program topics. Upon completion of the seminar, students should have gained an awareness and retained foundational knowledge related to updated frameworks associated with SC funding and budget programs.

Registration for DSCU courses is completed using the Cornerstone on Demand (CSOD) Learning Management System (LMS) hosted by the Defense Acquisition University (DAU). You will access the LMS using a dialog similar to that shown to the left. Click the "Need help signing in?" link (indicated by the arrow) if you need help.

If you are a student who currently occupies a Security Cooperation Workforce position, you should be immediately redirected to DSCU’s instance of the CSOD learning management system after logging into the DAU hosted site. If you do not see any DSCU courses available after login, you will need to take one of the following actions:

  1. Register for the Introduction to Security Cooperation Course (SC-101).
  2. Change your organization in your CSOD profile. Follow these Directions for Changing your Organinization so you can view your DSCU courses.
