Intermediate International Military Student Office (IMSO)

Description

This is a intermediate-level course and is intended to address key functions of the International Military Student Officer (IMSO), focusing on administration of the International Military Student (IMS) during their training, Field Studies Program objectives and use of the Security Assistance Network (SAN) and the Security Cooperation – Training Management System (SC-TMS).

Objectives

For students to: Recognize the International Training Management process. Access and utilize the Security Assistance Network (SAN) and Security Cooperation – Training Management System (SC-TMS). Respond to international military students’ needs while they are at your schoolhouse.

Personnel involved with International Military Student Office Operations.

Notes

  • Virtual only offerings of this course consist of 10 hours of online training conducted asynchronously (individually, self-paced) over 4 days (days 1-4) followed by 8 additional half days (days 5-12, excluding weekends) of synchronous instructor led online training through webinars and exercises. The online synchronous portion of the course (days 5-12) will normally run from 1300 until 1700 (Eastern Time, i.e. Ohio time) each day. Students are required to be present and participate fully during the synchronous portion of the course.
  • Hybrid offerings of this course (when determined to be COVID-19 safe) consist of 10 hours of online training conducted asynchronously (individually, self-paced) over 4 days followed by 4 additional days in-residence at DSCU, WPAFB, OH. The in-residence portion normally runs from 0800 until 1530 Tuesday through Thursday with the course ending on Friday at 1200, thus allowing for travel on Monday and Friday.

Registration for DSCU courses is completed using the Cornerstone on Demand (CSOD) Learning Management System (LMS) hosted by the Defense Acquisition University (DAU). You will access the LMS using a dialog similar to that shown to the left. Click the "Need help signing in?" link (indicated by the arrow) if you need help.

If you are a student who currently occupies a Security Cooperation Workforce position, you should be immediately redirected to DSCU’s instance of the CSOD learning management system after logging into the DAU hosted site. If you do not see any DSCU courses available after login, you will need to take one of the following actions:

  1. Register for the Introduction to Security Cooperation Course (SC-101).
  2. Change your organization in your CSOD profile. Follow these Directions for Changing your Organinization so you can view your DSCU courses.
