Intermediate International Acquisition Integration

Required for Intermediate Level Certification for SC Acquisition Management

This virtual instructor-led (VILT) course teaches students to plan, integrate, and implement international acquisition programs within the Defense Acquisition System. It is designed to meet the needs of DoD acquisition workforce members in various acquisition career fields that are responsible for international acquisition program efforts as well as the needs of the Security Cooperation (SC) Acquisition Management (ACQ) Area of Concentration (AOC). The course covers the International Acquisition Career Path (IACP) and the Security Cooperation Workforce Certification Program competencies using a comprehensive, integrated approach with practical exercises that address the following areas/mechanisms: cooperative programs, foreign military sales, direct commercial sales, building partner capacity programs, technology security and foreign disclosure, and defense exportability integration. Upon completion of the course, students will possess the skills needed to effectively and efficiently plan, participate in, and manage a wide variety of international acquisition program activities that support U.S. Government and DoD security cooperation and political-military objectives, contribute to program affordability, and enhance coalition interoperability with allied/friendly nations.

Mid-level defense acquisition personnel involved in international acquisition activities, specifically those within the International Acquisition Career Path (IACP), plus any defense employee working in this area to include members of the Security Cooperation workforce.

• Pre-work required (approx. 1 hour) / Walk-ins NOT authorized / Pre-work accessible on DAU Public. Pre-work must be completed not later than the Thursday prior to the class start date. Official registration closes fourteen (14) days prior to the class start date.
• Course Pre-Work Requirements: Complete student survey; take optional pre-test, review prerequisite distance learning course material, read practical exercise scene setter and student instructions.
• Virtual classes are conducted via Cisco Webex/MS Teams, supplemented with Blackboard and e-mail.
• Students are required to test connectivity with DAU IT prior to the class start date and should not schedule themselves for any other work-related activity while participating in this class.
• DAU does not reimburse student phone/internet charges.
